Data Migration Specialist

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced data professional, with the combination of excellent technical skills and strong interpersonal skills, to join our amazing team and support our portfolio of large public and private sector clients.

To be considered for this role, you will need strong technical skills and experience including:

  • In-depth experience of the full data migration life cycle.
  • In-depth experience mapping complex source data structures to target structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of data discovery and data profiling, data quality reporting and data cleansing.
  • Deep technical expertise in MS SQL and SSIS (using SQL Server Management Studio, and SQL Server Data Tools in Visual Studio), with the ability to develop and maintain complex stored procedures. Skills in MS PowerShell would also be seen as beneficial.
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and maintaining high-volume data import routines across multiple legacy applications and off-system data sources.
  • Experience migrating large and varied data sets from multiple legacy applications.
  • Experience in managing the data load process, and troubleshooting errors encountered during a data load.
  • Experience creating single customer records from multiple disparate data sources.
  • In-depth experience mapping complex source data structures to target structures.
  • Technical expertise in data modelling and database design.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, understand, and document complex and varied data sets.
  • Adept at creating queries and report writing.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Visio.

Experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and general knowledge of Azure architecture would also be seen as beneficial.

  • Be a team player with the ability to work collaboratively to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to ask questions where necessary, solve problems, and actively own issues through to conclusion.
  • Have the ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.

Prerequisites:

  • Must have completed a full data migration end-to-end.
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft T-SQL, including the development of stored procedures to restructure complex datasets.
  • Must have experience in developing and managing data extraction routines

Knowledge of Finance and Social Housing is strongly preferred.
